In 2017 experts of the Finnish publication Tuulilasi have tested the Nokian Nordman 7 SUV at size 215/65 R16 and compared it with seven similar budget, mid-range and premium studded winter tyres.
2nd place in Wet braking. The braking distance was 0.3 meters longer, than the leader.1-2nd place in Wet handling. One of the best result. Nordman was 0.2 seconds faster, than the next tyre.4th place in Dry braking. The braking distance was 0.59 meters longer, than the leader.3rd place in Ice braking. The braking distance was 2.41 meters longer, than the leader.5th place in Ice handling. Nordman was 5.3 seconds slower, than the leader.5th place in Ice traction. Acceleration time was 0.92 seconds longer, than the leader.5th place in Ice lateral stability. Nordman was 1.1 seconds slower, than the leader.7th place in Snow braking. The braking distance was 0.68 meters longer, than the leader.6th place in Snow handling. Nordman was 2.8 seconds slower, than the leader.3rd place in Snow traction. According to the test results Nordman shared 3rd place with Gislaved and Bridgestone.
Main conclusions:
Great wet braking and handling.
Good dry braking distance.
Good ice performance: very close result to the leader and better than some more expensive tyres.
Relatively long snow braking and low handling, good traction.
