Kumho WinterCraft WP71

The Kumho Winter Craft WP71 is a Premium Touring studless winter tyre with directional tread, designed for passenger cars.

In 2017 experts of the German publication Auto Motor und Sport have tested the Kumho WP71 at size 225/40 R18 and compared it with nine similar mid-range and premium winter tyres.

Overall Kumho WinterCraft WP71 review

According to the test results Kumho took 9th place and got an expert score “recommended with restrictions”.

Main conclusions:

  • Unbalanced on the dry: short braking distance, but low handling.
  • Same on the wet.
  • Relatively low aquaplanning resistance.
  • Good snow performance. The tyre didn’t take high positions, but showed very close result to leader.
  • The highest rolling resistance.
  • Good noise level.
