2017 AMS Kumho Winter Craft WP71 test

In 2017 experts of the German publication Auto Motor und Sport have tested the Kumho WP71 at size 225/40 R18 and compared it with nine similar mid-range and premium winter tyres.

According to the test results Kumho took 9th place and got an expert score “recommended with restrictions”.

Main conclusions:

  • Unbalanced on the dry: short braking distance, but low handling.
  • Same on the wet.
  • Relatively low aquaplanning resistance.
  • Good snow performance. The tyre didn’t take high positions, but showed very close result to leader.
  • The highest rolling resistance.
  • Good noise level.
