In 2017 experts of the Belarusian publication ABW.BY have tested the Kumho KW31 at size 205/55 R16 and compared it with nine similar budget, mid-range and premium studless winter tyres.
9th place in Wet braking. The braking distance was 4.19 meters longer, than the leader.7th place in Wet slalom. Kumho was 3.6 seconds longer, than the leader.4th place in Dry braking. The braking distance was 0.8 meters longer, than the leader.8th place in Ice braking. The braking distance was 2.24 meters longer, than the leader.8th place in Ice traction. Ice acceleration time was 1.54 seconds longer, than the leader.9th place in Ice handling. Kumho was 2.4 meters slower, than the leader.5th place in Ice slalom. Kumho was 3.3 seconds slower, than the leader.6th place in Snow braking. The braking distance was 1.07 meters longer, than the leader.7th place in Snow traction. Acceleration time was 0.77 seconds slower, than the leader.7-9th place in Snow slalom. The tyre was 1.3 seconds slower, than the leader.6th place in Rolling resistance.

According to the test results Kumho took 7th place.
Main conclusions:
Relatively long wet braking distance and average handling.
Short dry braking distance.
Relatively poor ice performance for high price. Some cheaper tyres had shorter braking distance and better traction.
