In 2018 experts of the Norwegian publication Autofil have tested the Cooper Weather Master WSC at size 205/55 R16 and compared it with eleven similar studded winter tyres.
7-8th place in Dry braking. The same result with the Yokohama and a bit better than some premium brands. The braking distance difference with the leader was 2.1 meters longer.4-10th place in Dry handling. The same result with most premium brands like Bridgestone, Goodyear. Michelin, Nokian etc.2-6th place in Dry directional stability. Same result with some premium brands.1st place and the best result in Wet braking. Main conclusions:
Average dry braking, but good handling and directional stability (the same result with some premium brands).
Great on the wet: the best braking distance and handling.
Good snow braking, but the worst handling and traction.
The worst result on the ice. Very long braking distance.
