The Continental IceContact 2 is a Premium Touring studded winter tyre with asymmetrical tread pattern, designed for Passenger cars.

The tyre also has a SUV-version.

The tire has been replaced by the Continental IceContact 3.

2018 Vi Bilägare Continental IceContact 2 test

In 2018 experts of the Swedish publication Vi Bilagare have tested the Continental Ice Contact 2 at size 205/55 R16 and compared it with six similar studded winter tyres. In addition, experts included into the test one studless winter tyre for comparison of results.

1st place and the best result in Dry braking. The braking distance 0.46 meters shorter than the next closest studded tyre.

2nd place in Wet braking. The braking distance difference with the leader was 0.58 meters longer.

According to the test results the Continental took 1st place and became the winner.

Main conclusions:

  • The shortest dry braking distance.
  • Very good wet braking.
  • Good snow braking and traction (average positions in the tests, but extremely close results to the best). The worst snow handling average speed.
  • Great on the ice.
  • The highest rolling resistance.
