Continental EcoContact 6 Review
Continental EcoContact 6 is one of the most popular Premium Touring eco-tires, released in 2019. The model was especially developed for low rolling resistance and high longevity, and is a great choice for quiet everyday city driving. It is available in a huge chart of sizes from 13 to 22” and is suitable for all types of passenger cars, crossovers and SUVs.
One of the main innovations of the tire is the high-tech rubber compound Green Chili 2.0. It at the same time provides reduced rolling resistance as well as high wear resistance.
Continental EC6 took part in tests many times, where its competitors were both similar eco-tires and conventional models. Let’s analyze its performance, advantages and disadvantages.
Dry performance
Continental has an average 96.79% rating in dry performance, based on four tests. Its braking and handling ratings are 95.74% and 97.83% respectively. This is a good result, meaning that the tire provides reliable grip on dry roads.
Wet performance
The tire’s rating in wet performance rating is 90.3%. This is an average result and one of the weaknesses of the model that other low rolling resistance tires also face. In wet braking, handling and lateral stability its results are 90.33%, 92.7% and 92.07% respectively.
Aquaplaning resistance
The EC6 has an 88.05% average rating in hydroplaning resistance: 90.59% in straight line and 85.51% in cornering.
