2018 AMS Bridgestone DM-v2 test

In 2018 experts of the Sweden magazine Auto Motor & Sport have tested the Bridgestone Blizzak DM V2 at size 275/45 R20 and compared it with five similar Nordic studless winter tyres. In addition, experts included into the test two winter tyres of the “European” type, which are shows better performance at dry and wet.

4th place in Wet braking. As expected the best result in this test showed tyre of the “European” type, which had wet braking distance 5.99 meters shorter, than Bridgestone. And the difference in braking distance of Bridgestone with the similar winter tyre was only 0.35 meters.

6th place in Wet handling. Bridgestone lost in wet handling to the “European tyre” 3.93sec and 1.28sec to the best similar tyre.

4th place in Dry braking. This time the best result showed similar by type to Bridgestone Nokian. The dry braking difference between them was 1.23 meters.

3rd place in Ice braking. Bridgestone was very close to the leader and showed 0.39 meters longer braking distance.

4th place in Ice handling. The difference in ice handling time with the leader was 2.99 seconds.

3rd place in Ice traction. The difference with the leader in ice acceleretion time was 0.07 seconds.

2nd place in Snow handling. The snow handling time difference with the leader was 0.24 seconds.

7th place in Rolling resistance. The rolling resistance difference with the leader was 2.25kg/t.

Overall

According to the test result the Bridgestone Blizzak DM-V2 took 4th place and showed balanced performance in all tests.

  • Good snow handling.
  • High rolling resistance.
