BFGoodrich g-Force Stud test by Finnish Tuulilasi at size 215/65 R16 in 2017

In 2017 experts of the Finnish publication Tuulilasi have tested the Bf Goodrich gForce Stud at size 215/65 R16 and compared it with seven similar budget, mid-range and premium studded winter tyres.

4th result in Wet braking. The difference in braking distance with the leader was 1.3 meters.

5-7th place in Wet handling. The same result with Korean Nexen and Chinese Sailun. The difference in handling time with the leader was 0.6seconds.

2th place in Dry Braking. Bf Goodrich was better than most premium brand in this test and showed the difference in braking distance with the leader 0.03 meters.

7th place in Ice braking. The tyre lost even Chinese Sailun. The difference with the leader in braking distance was 7.87 meters.

1st place in Ice Handling. This time BFGoodrich showed reverse result and bacame the leader. It showed 1,4 seconds beter ice handling time, than Nokian.

7th place in Ice traction. The difference in acceleration time with the leader was 4.11 sec.

4th place in Ice lateral stability. Bfgoodrich was very close to the leader and showed difference in handling time 0.8 sec.

Overall

According to the test result the BF Goodrich gForce Stud took 6th place.

Main conclusions:

  • Conflicting results on the ice:  the best handling time and average lateral stability. But in the same time had one of the longest braking distances and poor traction.
  • Average wet braking distance and handling time.
  • The shortest snow braking distance, average handling and traction.
  • Good dry braking distance.
  • The highest fuel consumption.
